classy elegant looking water kettleThis kettle is great for the price! It's a rather large stainless steel kettle that heats water very quickly.
A few things that stand out for me about this machine is:
1). The spout actually comes up with a removable stainless steel mesh to keep particles from coming out. So say you throw in tea leaves into the pot, the tea leaves wouldn't come out since it's blocked by the guard. I thought that was a nifty idea.
2) I love how it attaches and removes to the heating base effortlessly. It's a perfect tight fit.
3) I actually enjoy the on/off switch, it does seem fragile but long as you don't go Conan the Destroyer on it when turning it off or on, it feels light.
4) I like picking up the tea pot, the plastic handle is never hot, it feels very sturdy and looks classy as you pour it.
I don't really have any negatives yet. I did read the negative reviews and I haven't had issues with it not turning off or the handle getting too hot and et cetera. However, if I do I'll update this review.

Amazing skilletThis skillet is amazing. It is heavy (daily use will definitely build some upper body strength), excellent at conducting heat, and easy to clean. You may have to season the thing once you get it, I am thinking about doing it myself. The factory seasoning is pretty decent, much better than the lid I bought with it. You have to use the thing a lot before you smooth out the bottom for a perfectly nonstick surface. However, I have cooked eggs in the thing already and they had minimal sticking which made me happy. After a few months, a year tops, I expect the thing to be pretty much nonstick.
Always use a glove when handling the thing, it gets HOT. Also, if you want to do a real hot stir fry, you probably want to preheat the skillet in the oven for 20 minutes or so (400 degrees works for me).
NEVER USE SOAP. If you clean the thing with coarse salt you should be golden. Only use water if you must. You should always rub some water into the skillet after each use to prevent rusting (don't forget the bottom and handle). If you somehow get the thing extra dirty, throw it in your oven and run a self cleaning cycle. After that was it with water and reseason. That will bring it back to new.

Calphalon broke my heartI paid $28 for this pan with free shipping. I think that is a fair market value. It was not a deal at all.
My first thought when I picked up the box: Oh no, they sent the wrong thing. This is not nearly heavy enough to be Calphalon.
My first thought when I held the pan in my hands: Gee, maybe it will be nice to not always use really heavy pans.
Yeah. Then I turned on the light in my kitchen.
Calphalon, you done us wrong.
It's a nice enough pan. It is not Calphalon quality by any stretch.
It came with small scratches on the bottom of the pan and the handle. Not enough to send it back.
The workmanship is sadly lacking. The handle is small and not heat-resistant as it should be.
The rivets are secure and seem sturdy, but are very poorly machined and ugly, showing cut marks and uneven surfaces.
The underside of the inadequate handle is not finished.
So please, Calphalon, call this stuff Calphalon II, or EveryDay, but don't lead us to think it is the quality we enjoy from Toledo, Ohio.
