| Phenomenal playingFirst time I saw Joe live I had no idea who he was. Four concerts and 5 CDs later, I can vouch that guitar aficionados are really missing out if they haven't discovered this guy yet. Covers multiple genre styles, but blues is where he really shines. Great CD. Read more...

| Once Upon A ChristmasThis CD is excellent with fabulous songs sung brilliantly by the 2 stars!
I remember seeing this Christmas Special on TV (BBC I think?) and was greatly impressed by the quality of the material, particularly moving was the visit to a hospital for children....Dolly is such an intelligent songwriter.
I just wonder why this Special has never been released (or has it?) on DVD as I would certainly buy it! Read more...

| "Funhouse" ReviewP!nk is back with her new release 'Funhouse'. As a P!nk fan, I think this release definitely shows off her growth as an artist and her vocals are definitely on spot. I have to say that I felt 'Funhouse' is definitely different from her previous releases. It's more raw, gritty, featuring her vocals and ability to evoke emotion through her voice and words. This is not like any of her previous releases in that it's not overly produced and, to me, sounds a bit more stripped down and basic. Yet, it still works and stands out as one of this year's best releases.
The Good: In this release, the lyrics really stand out. Many of the songs' subject matter is lost love or the ins and outs of relationships. Most every song on this release definitely seems and feels more authentic. The sound or vibe of this release is more rock/acoustic than it is pop. "So What" stands out because its the most commercial/pop-sounding song on the cd. My personal favorite is the mellow "I Don't Believe You" that's simply the best lyrically, vocally and production wise with how simple yet emotional it is. "Funhouse" is another great track; very upbeat while using clever lyrics to deconstruct a good relationship gone wrong. The best part of this release from P!nk is that the songs are pretty relatable; these clearly weren't songs just handed to her and she's not singing about pointless things that she doesn't believe or have a connection to.
The Bad: The only complaint I have of the cd is the running theme of bad relationships, broken hearts, lost love. It's an element of just about every song, and considering her personal life of late, that's not surprising. I think the release could have stood for a few more upbeat songs or songs that had more of an edge or bite to them such as "So What". It may be a matter of taste and preference but after listening to the entire cd, I found it a bit less memorable than her previous releases that were just packed with variety and different sounds. This cd, to be frank, was a little bit of a downer and depressing.
In all, not a bad release and very high production values. P!nk does not disappoint and continues to stand out as one of the few creative artists left who aren't afraid to take a chance with their music and careers. Definitely worth buying. Read more...
