| A Beautiful, Haunting and Emotional JourneyHaving not seen the movie yet, I'm sure my interpretation of the music will change. The score is beautiful and different than I expected - it's not brooding or as achingly melancholic as the score for 'Atonement,' but there's a delicate quality about the music here. Early tracks play a little more upbeat and almost have a mysterious quality to them, like the track 'Love in Mourmansk." As the story of Benjamin and Daisy unfolds, the music grows more complex and sad - in parallel to the emotional journey that the two lovers go through. Well, I've said enough. It's a beautiful soundtrack, there are many great tracks throughout, "Meeting Again" is simply but beautiful track with intricate piano work that I strongly recommend. Read more...

| lost in their sucess.......I am a die hard TC fan and have seen them live multiple times, this album is NOT GOOD AT ALL, period. It builds off what they have learned and created in the last ten years but THEN WHAT???? Nothing. Nothing new, more dub rapping, sittar riffs and... what else? It is a lazy effort at best, as if they were partying for the last two years and then realized its time to make a new album. In addition, whats with the crappy packaging?? these guys need to fire their marketing dept because it is just the definition of a useless effort. For an album that rebels against radio airplay , they seemed to have adapted the mentality of the radio establishment, more of the same mediocrity but spend more money on the promotion of it. i hope one or both of the founding members read this because when you guys were hungry with new ideas you made Thievery something special, please dont let it die, after this album please capitalize on your beats, grooves, and flow like the old days but lose the sittar and give the the ska rappers some time off as well. | My Daughter Loves This Album!I recently bought this album for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it. Every morning when she is putting on her make-up, she cannot stop dancing to "One Step At A Time". She is growing up so fast, and I think Jordin Sparks would make a great role model for her. | Pointedly ProAs a child, I grew up with this movie. I still have an old VHS copy, although the first viewing I can remember came on Public Broadcasting. Harry Nilsson's "The Point" frequently takes me back to my younger years, sitting with my mother on the couch and loving the tale of Oblio and Arrow seeking true meaning in a world in which they have become outcasts.
While the animation pales into comparison to today's slick digital tomes, I almost prefer the point because you can see the artistic vision coming through in all of its watercolor beauty. Some of the images also are a bit dated, but the impact is not lost.
For anyone who claims to be a fan of Nilsson's, this is a must have. For anyone who enjoys a simple, modern fairy tale, this is a good buy. Read more...
