| Takes my breath awayWhenever I listen to Ray LaMontagne I am taken away to a different place- a different planet. There are few artists that have the ability to do that for me. His voice, his lyrics, the way the music wraps around everything is simply stunning. There are no other words to truly explain it.
My favorite song on the album is "Empty." I remember the first time I played that song for a friend of mine- he had tears in his eyes after it was over telling me that he could "feel the pain in the song, and that it was beautiful."

| mix 2 parts Eminem + 1 part Linkin Park= Hollywood Undead= unoriginal and redundantAfter hearing and really liking "young" and "undead" I thought I would pick up Swan Songs... oops should've done more research. Don't be fooled be these 2 songs it's as close as you'll get to rock and at that they sound like a watered down "hybrid theory" era Linkin Park.
All the other songs are Rap/Hip-Hop which is not my thing, but even if I was the songs are unoriginal, because they sound like Eminem. I guess I should commend them for not stealing too much material; I think they only stole one song, because every song is about "getting the party started", "drinking 40oz (to get the party started)", or sleeping with well girls that have been drinking 40oz at the party.
Bottom line is I couldn't recommend this to anyone and just buy the singles you like, because no matter what genre you like (rock/rap/hip-hop) you're going to be disappointed in the unoriginal, redundant, and uninspired lyrics.
And hey give Slipknot's masks back.

| A Turning Point for O.A.R.This album is a huge turning point for O.A.R. most reviews I have seen read similar to this just more wordy and less up front:
"This CD is a very radio ready pop departure for O.A.R. While traditional fans will likely be disappointed by the departure, many new fans may find the pop-style rock songs appealing."
Basically if you want a Stroke 9 album, go pick one up. For the rest of us, let's just pray that we get our reggae rock band gods back on their next album.

| Starts off indecent, but gets better near the end. Flight of the Conchords should have done a little more brainstorming when trying to come up with things to sing about. This disc has five songs, and two of them are about sex. The opening track, "Business Time," is a rhythm-driven slow jam with the singer breathily monologuing about having sex with his wife/girlfriend... not a very welcoming way to start off your very first disc release. We move on to "If You're Into It," and hey, more sex! This time, the singer is encouraging a girl to have sex with some other guy.
Once you get past those two, the rest of the disc is very good. "I'm Not Crying" is, without a doubt, the best Conchords song yet. The subtle ironies and slight jabs at psychological denial of a lover's rejection are absolutely brilliant. The last three tracks were from a live performance in NYC. "The Most Beautiful Girl in the Room" is quite funny. The between-songs "Banter" is hilarious; a good chance to hear the two guys interacting with the crowd. Finally, the disc ends with "Robots," which, like "I'm Not Crying" and "The Most Beautiful Girl in the Room," is extremely good at subtlely poking fun at its subject matter.
So, in the end you get three very clever songs, a few minutes of good dialogue, and two repulsive songs about sex. Is it worth five bucks? Sure, go for it. The good mostly outweighs the bad.

| Not as good.A lot of comparisons has been made between this album and Usher's Here I stand. After listening to both albums, I consistently go back to listen to Usher. There is just no comparison in vocal and maturity.
Some of songs are good, but a strong vocal will make them better. However, I do enjoy watching his dance moves in the Forever music video.
